Fridays at 10am-12pm, open to everyone
The Exchange is a warm, free, and friendly safe space for people of all ages. It’s a place for conversation and company as much as for craft-making and gardening – and you are most welcome to join in.

What’s it like?
We hold The Exchange at the church, and we welcome people in from 10am. It’s completely free, and we provide everything you need to join in with any of the activities – including coffee and biscuits!
What we offer changes a little from time to time, but usually there’s a variety of craft activities, board games and jigsaws. If the weather is nice, some people like to do some gardening too. There’s also plenty of time for good conversations in friendly company.
Free tech support
From Spring 2025, we will be joined again by a tech support team who provide their services for free at The Exchange. Struggling with a problem with your computer, phone or tablet? Want to ask a question but don’t know who to ask? The tech team are there to help!
The digital support team who come to us once a month are holding training courses for their staff during the winter months, and so won’t be able to join us at a Friday Exchange until February 2025. Anyone needing digital support can still contact them:
- By phone: 01206 282452 or 07970 551153
- By email: [email protected]
This service is provided by the North East Essex Digital Access Support Team (NEE DAST), on behalf of Colchester City Council, alongside Tendring District Council and the North East Essex Integrated Care Board.

When and where?
Fridays at 10:00am to 12pm
Held in the Worship Hall of West Mersea Free Church, 32 Mill Road, CO5 8RJ.
There is no cost to attend or participate in activities at The Exchange.
