Dear Friends,
Following the recent government advice and subsequent advice from the Baptist Union of Great Britain relating to the coronavirus, West Mersea Free Church will be suspending all groups until further notice. This includes: Tuesday Fellowship; Toddler Group; Rock Solid; Boulder; The Journeys Group; Home Groups; Phenomenon; Friday @ Four; Carer’s Lunch; and Sunday Services.
We follow this advice with very heavy hearts. However, as a church we are called by God to ‘Love Mersea’, and so for a period of time, part of how we can do that is to cease meeting together as we are used to.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens
Ecclesiastes 3:1
We know how much some of you will miss one or more of our groups. However, what we do as church has never defined us as a church. We are family founded on what God has done for us. In the past we have sought ways to, as best as we can, reflect God’s passionate love for us. That is what, as a church family, we will continue to do – just differently for the time being. So for a season we will find new ways to Gather, new ways to Grow and new ways to Go Love Mersea.
We will be releasing further information in the near future, however, until then:
I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
