What is Christmas?
It’s when we celebrate that God so loved the world
That He came to the earth as a baby to live among us
So He could experience life with us and be an example to us
And later, through his death and resurrection
He took on all our burdens and pains
And opened the door to offer us life in all its fullness
Advent and Christmas services
The Plan in the Chaos
For the first Sunday of Advent we look at how God always has a plan for us, even in the middle of chaos – including life in the middle of a global pandemic.
The Light in the Darkness
For the second Sunday of Advent, we learn about Jesus being the light in our darkness.
The Arrival in the Lockdown
There’s a lot we can learn from the Christmas story today, and for the third Sunday of Advent, we join together in understanding how Jesus’ arrival relates to us now.
The Outreach of the Outcasts
Everyone can share in God’s love, and for the final Sunday of Advent, we remember that God loves each and every person, and everyone is welcome in God’s great family.
The Churches Together in Mersea
This year we’re joining with churches from across the island, organising a grand carol service that you join online. It’s really exciting, and we hope that you can join us!
The Peace in the Despair
Our short, quiet and reflective service is aimed at those who perhaps don’t feel like celebrating at this time of year, for any number of reasons, such as bereavement or illness.
Our annual Christingle service starts at 3pm.
The Weary World Rejoices
The all-age service on Christmas Morning is a celebration of Jesus’ birth, with worship and a short sermon reminding us of the importance of Christmas in our lives.
