What is Boulder?
Boulder is a spectacular evening group for youth seeking fun, enjoyment and community. The young people meet with one another to think about life & faith, and have a joyous evening.
Friendship & community
The evening begins with a short talk and discussion around a topic of life & faith, before providing the opportunity to purchase sweets and drinks at bargain prices from our tuck shop. The many rooms in the Schoolroom and the large outdoor space come into use, with the air hockey table, pool table, and various other indoor and outdoor sports proving very popular.
Sweets & drinks
Throughout the evening, youth have the opportunity to purchase items from our tuck shop, which is filled with sweets and drinks at incredibly low prices. Cans of popular drinks are available for 60p, and sweets are sold from 1p.
Thursdays at 7:45pm to 9:00pm for School Years 7 to 11
A free, weekly activity (term-time only) held in the Schoolroom at West Mersea Free Church.
There is no cost to attend, but youth can bring money to spend at the tuck shop.
Flyers & Letters
There are currently no letters available for the Boulder youth group.
There are 40 places at Boulder, and new places are allocated on a first-come first-served basis. In the past, we have sometimes needed to operate a waiting list. During such times, failure to attend Boulder for more than two evenings per half term (except for sickness, school activities, and other good reasons) may result in your child’s place being allocated to another on the waiting list.
Upon first arrival at Boulder, the young person and responsible adult will be asked to complete the two forms provided, one of which is a record of the young person’s details, and the other is an agreement that aims to create the best possible environment for each and every child attending.
We politely request that young people to not arrive early as they will not be permitted to enter until the published start time (7:45pm) to allow for the necessary change-over time between our earlier Rock Solid group for younger children.
Young people are expected to leave the premises by 9:00pm, having made arrangements to make their way home. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian, and not the Boulder team, to ensure young people travel home safely.
